An Accident Involving 2 Semis Put an Area Man in the Hospital

A Northeast Iowa man is recovering from injuries in a fiery accident involving 2 semis, in Southwest Wisconsin.

It happened at about 4pm Monday on Highway 151, north of Dickeyville, in Grant County.

54 year old Robert Koltes of Dubuque was the driver of a semi loaded with saw dust. A semi in front of him, driven by 28 year old Justin Clare of Platteville, slowed to make a turn. Koltes ran into the back of the other semi, causing his rig to catch fire. The blaze quickly spread to his load of saw dust.

Koltes was pulled from the burning truck, and taken to the Platteville hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.

Clare, the other driver, was not hurt.

The wreck closed down the highway for several hours.

The accident remains under investigation.
