The Buchanan County Sheriff is investigating an accident involving an Amish buggy. It happened shortly after 6pm Friday, southeast of Fairbank on County Road C-57.

A car driven by 23 year old Ashley Conner of Oelwein, was headed west, when she collided with the buggy, traveling in the same direction.

There were seven people in the buggy, but none were seriously injured; the buggy was severely damaged, but the horse was not hurt.

Conner, the driver of the car, also did not sustain any serious injuries.

The accident closed down the 1400 block of C-57 for a short time, while officers cleared the scene of debris.

The Buchanan County Sheriff was assisted at the scene by the Fairbank Police Department, Fairbank Fire Department, and Iowa State Patrol.
