The Linn County Sheriff is investigating a one-car accident that sent three people to the hospital.

It happened just before 11pm Wednesday, at the "T" intersection of Wright Brothers Boulevard and Lefebure Road, south of Fairfax.

A Vehicle driven by 18 year old Taten Sanborn of Cedar Rapids, failed to stop at the stop sign, went through the intersection, into the ditch, coming to a stop in a farm field.
Sanborn and a front seat passenger, 17 year old Madalyn Massey of Cedar Rapids, were taken to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids; Massey was later transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

A back seat passenger, 20 year old Zachary Scovel of Walford, was taken by a private vehicle to St. Luke's in Cedar Rapids. There were no condition reports available.

According to the Linn County Sheriff, all of the occupants of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts.

Charges are pending, and there is an investigation as to whether alcohol was a factor.
