Accidents Under Investigation in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff is investigating a rollover accident near West Union.

It happened at about 1pm Wednesday on Harding Road. Ava Taggart was driving an SUV westbound, when she lost control. The vehicle rolled one-and-a-half times, coming to rest on it's side. Taggart was taken to the West Union Hospital for treatment.

The sheriff is also looking into a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of two Fayette County roads, north of Oelwein. It also happened Wednesday; a car driven by 63 year old Thomas McGrath of Maynard, pulled into the path of a semi driven by 44 year old Jeremy Cheatum of Clarence, Missouri. No one was injured, but there was $3,500 in damage between the two vehicles. That accident is also under investigation.
