3 Dead in 4 Vehicle Eastern Iowa Crash

3 people are reported dead in a four-vehicle accident early today (Thursday) in Benton County.

It happened just before 5:30am on Highway 30 south of Keystone.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, a minivan occupied by 10 people, was westbound on 30 when it went out of control on some ice. An eastbound car collided with the van, causing the van to roll.

Another eastbound vehicle hit the van while it was rolling. Another eastbound car collided with the 2nd vehicle.

The Iowa State Patrol reports at least 2 people are dead; some media outlets are reporting 3 victims. No names or further details have been released.

The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
