Linn County authorities were called out early this morning (Tuesday, June 5) to two traffic accidents, in the same area.


At about 12:30am, officers from Linn County and Benton County, along with the Fairfax Fire Department and Area Ambulance, were summoned to a multiple vehicle traffic accident at Amana Road and "G" Street, outside of Walford.

Emergency personnel found 4 cars involved in 2 different accidents.

In the first incident, a car driven by 39 year old Abubakr Habila of Cedar Rapids, rear-ended a car driven by 45 year old Johnny Pierre of Cedar Rapids. Pierre was taken to St. Luke's hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

The secondary accident happened right after the first: a car driven by 27 year old Wilmise Vixamar of Cedar Rapids rear-ended a car driven by 29 year old Amir Elduma of Coralville. No other injuries were reported.
